The Galano Club, Inc. was founded March 1, 1982. It is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation in the State of Georgia and has been granted tax -exempt status by the State and Federal governments. The Galano Club, Inc. has no affiliation with Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon or any other 12 Step Program.

We provide facilities for meetings, conferences, and communications between groups and service organizations of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. Primarily, we offer space where 12-step groups may hold meetings. Each group pays rent to the club for use of meeting space. Membership in The Galano Club is independent of membership in any group that uses the club's facilities for their meetings. The Galano Club is a community and your membership helps support the clubhouse and its activities for the recovery community. Why should I join The Galano Club, Inc.?
Membership dues play a vital part in continuing to keep the recovery doors open to more than 55 meetings per week. Meeting attendance alone does not constitute membership in The Galano Club! By joining, you give to others what has been so freely given to you. Without members, the Club could not support this clubhouse, which is one of the very few clubhouses in the U.S. designed primarily to serve the gay/lesbian recovery community. As a dues paying member in good standing, you have a voice on Club direction and policy. You can elect members to the Board of Directors, receive discounts to clubhouse
social functions, and obtain a door code. Please do not share your code with anyone!

Requirements (By-Law II. A.) for membership in the club are:

• Membership in Alcoholics Anonymous
• NOT LESS than thirty (30) consecutive and continuous days of sobriety, or members of Al-Anon, (attending at least 6 Al-Anon meetings)
• A desire to participate in the Club's activities
• Current payment of dues

Membership is in no way conditioned upon or affected by race, color, creed, national origin, sex, or age. Dues and other monetary contributions are tax deductible for computing income and estate taxes.

Dues are $10 per month or $100 per year. Club membership dues help to defray basic operating costs such as general repairs, insurance, cleaning, supplies, trash removal, water, electricity, heating and air conditioning.

How do I join? It’s easy!
Fill out the membership application form -- you can pick one up in the clubhouse or print the PDF file. Include a check payable to The Galano Club, Inc. with your form and mail to:

If you prefer to pay in cash, put your dues in an envelope and deposit it in the Galano safe. Please do not send cash in the mail!
